Speaker: David is the Managing Director of The Talent Enterprise, the region’s first human capital ‘think’ and ‘do’ tank, advising clients across the region on their most compelling employability, talent and leadership opportunities. With a background in labor market economics, David has over 23 years of work experience spanning consulting and line HR in Europe & the Middle East. He has lived and worked in Dubai for over 17 years and is a senior advisor to policy-makers, business leaders and HR professionals on strategic human capital issues and challenges. David is also the co-author of a book titled ‘Unlocking the Paradox of Plenty – A Review of the Talent Landscape in the GCC’.

 

David was previously the Chief Consulting Officer with Aon Hewitt across MENA region and also has senior HR leadership roles with Emirates Airlines and Dubai Civil Aviation. He has extensive experience across multiple industries including government sector, transportation, aviation, telecom, healthcare, banking and retail.

 

David is a lecturer at universities including University of Cambridge, European School of Management and Technology, Berlin and University of Bradford. She is a subject matter expert on career counseling; workforce development and psychometric testing relating to talent management. She is a faculty member of the Institute of Human Resource Management Education (iHRME). Bruncha has served in Director Roles at two community colleges in the USA where she was responsible for the design, development and delivery of workforce development and training programs across several industry sectors. In addition, she has been an associate consultant for three of the world’s largest career management companies: Right Management Consulting, Lee Hecht Harrison and, more recently, NetExpat.

Nigel began his career as a Workforce Analyst managing over 2,000 employees with America On-Line before moving to the UAE in 2004 to take up a recruitment role within a prominent property development holdings company. Having spent a short stint embarking his past learnings in setting up best in class recruitment tracking systems, he later moved into a prominent executive search firm having spent a considerable amount of time harnessing his skills across cross-functional and industry specialization recruitment. Prior to joining Shane Phillips Consultants, Nigel held the position of a Regional Talent Acquisition Manager for a global FMCG company where he secured and executed all international talent acquisition functions across the EMEA & SEA region. Nigel holds a Bachelor of Psychology and Communications from Christ University.

Prior to joining the HKS career team in 2013, she worked in career services offices at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston University School of Management, Northeastern University, and as an Employment Specialist with refugees and immigrants. At HKS, Amanda coaches graduate students with a wide range of interests, spanning the sectors. She leads seminars and webinars, including many focused on optimizing LinkedIn use for career development, and advises on careers in technology policy, urban development; including transportation and housing, social enterprise, and non-profit management. Amanda earned an A.B. in Anthropology magna cum laude, from Brown University, and a M.Ed. in Counseling from BU’s School of Education.

 

Sabrina is an Associate Director Career Services with over 10 years of experience at Northeastern University (NU), the Princeton Review #1 ranked Career Services office. In addition to her work at NU, in 2011 Sabrina got the entrepreneurial itch and started a consulting business as a Holistic Career Coach & LinkedIn Trainer. Sharon leads the Career Center at Capella University, a fully-online, accredited US institution serving 35,000 learners and 40,000 alumni. She has been employed in a variety of educational settings since 1992, and has been counseling in exclusively online programs since 1998. As a school counselor for the world’s first online high school diploma completion program in the late 1990’s, Sharon had the opportunity to develop unprecedented models for online counseling. In 2005, Sharon co-founded an award-winning online public high school, where she served as its co-director for 3 years. With a desire to return to a higher education setting, Sharon found the ideal setting at Capella University, which services adult learners using an innovative online model. She joined Capella in 2008, and was promoted in 2012 to Supervisor of the Career Center, where she has the distinct privilege of leading a “dream team” of career counselors and support staff. Sharon earned a B.A. degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and an M.A. degree in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

 

Melody is passionate about the field of career services and presenting on topics related to career exploration and job search. Currently a Career Counselor serving graduate business and technology students at Capella University, Melody has 10 years experience within the field of higher education career services and 4 years within corporate HR. She was a founding member of the Missouri Career Development Association where she is currently President. Melody is just three classes away from her second master’s degree and hopes to begin her doctorate studies within the field of adult education soon!
